High Sierra Painting
Our Three Step Resealing - Restaining Process
-
Step One
After Washing
Pressure Washing and Rinsing your Home
The first step to beautifying your mountain home starts with the "washing". We three stage low pressure wash all exterior siding, decks, stairs and railings with a combination of environmentally friendly, stain removers, wood cleaners, blonding agents and mildew removal substances. These products, when used properly will leave the wood on your house free of old degraded stain, tannin stains and mold.
What makes our washing process unique is the fact that we only use low pressure to wash your house. Using high pressure can cause unsightly "lines" which are difficult to remove and in some cases, damage your siding. High pressure cannot effectively remove degraded stain or mildew. We use a three stage low pressure pressure wash because it is the most effective state of the art way to prepare your home for beautiful finishes. After we wash your home we allow it to dry. This part of the process is very important.

Step Two

After Masking
Masking of Windows and Fixtures
After your house is fully dry, our talented crew masks all windows, not only to prevent them for overspray, but to protect the seals that keep your windows water-tight. Our crew will also mask all lights, rocks, Trex decks, driveways and if necessary, doors. We do all this to insure the finish we apply only ends up where it is beautiful, on your wood!
After your house has been re-sealed, a professional window washing contractor will clean all exterior window glass insuring that your mountain home will sparkle like the gem in the High Sierra' s it really is.
One last important note... Living in a masked house is not much fun. During the summers in Truckee-Tahoe temperatures can reach into the 90's. Not being able to open your windows to let the cool breeze in, is a real drag. We recommend you make plans not to be at your mountain home while your house is masked.

Step Three

The Finished Product
Spraying and Application of Exterior Wood Finishes
When your house has been adequately masked, we begin our spraying process. On most houses we reseal, we recommend a Superdeck transparent wood stain, custom tinted to complement the wood on your house. This finish is applied to your house with an airless sprayer. Our crew will then backbrush whereever necessary to insure that all the stain is fully absorbed into your wood siding.
We recommend Superdeck transparent wood stain because it contains linseed and tung oils that offer superior durability that enhances the natural beauty of real wood, while protecting it against harsh elements that can fade and damage exposed wood.
Superdeck also contains high quality transparent oxide pigments that keep your wood looking like new and help protect it from damaging UV rays.
These two components combined with a high solids based formula, make Superdeck transparent wood stains the perfect choice to beautify and protect your home.
Once backbrushing and spraying are complete, we de-mask, do any necessary touch-ups and remove all masking materials from your property. You are left with a beautiful finished product that amazes us all...
